steps, storms and lightning bugs

few things are more meditative for me than watching storms, especially cloud to cloud lightning seen at the leading edge between front boundaries. So when the opportunity presents itself I take full advantage of the time of weather induced solace. This evening, just after sunset, distant rumbles of thunder could be heard and the darkening edge of a storm like leviathan could be seen forming as webs of lightning danced and splintered across the sky, exactly what I wanted to see. Not to be intimidated by such a visual display, the lightning bugs entered the open air stage with their own display of spectacular beauty and understated grace. and as the first act played without words, I sat on the front steps and let the performance wash over me…such a lovely day.
