keeping the monsters out

the ink pattern that formed on this card reminded me of shadows in a forest and the light piercing through the branches. Stories of old Victorian gardens whrere tragic events may have taken place and where then lock away for decades afterwards seemed plausable (such was the case in the story of the Secret Garden (yes, i know the orginal story and yes, it was a very long time ago when it was read to me (in class while in grade school) played a minor role in the formation of this as was any given Grimm fairy tale... the only modern day nod or influence would be M Night Shamalans The Village (maybe) i have a lot of things in my head at any given time so anything can trigger ideas when the right things are seen or fall into place. The tree came from an image found in a Dover Publication collection of medieval wood cuts showing cities and the brick wall came from an ad found years ago. I hope i can replicate this pattern (on the card) somehow and make the scene of the wall a bit longer by a few panels ...think that would look rather cool as an accordian fold display...
